I accept my Imperfections

A needed reminder :)

I accept my imperfections

See the end of this email to feed a starving child with a single tap. (only takes one second)

Hey,

Nobody tells you how exhausting it is to be at war with yourself. Not all at once, it's more like a low hum in the background. The way you remember what you said at dinner three days ago. The way you catch your reflection and immediately start negotiating. The way you shrink a little every time someone seems to have it more together than you do.

We live in a weird time for this. You can watch someone's instagram story at 2am and somehow walk away feeling like evidence of your own imperfections. And the harder part is that most of the people you're comparing yourself to are doing the exact same thing when they put their phone down.

Something that took me a while to actually believe is that imperfection isn't a phase you graduate out of. There's no version of you on the other side of enough self work who finally gets it all right. What does exist is a version of you who stops bleeding energy trying to close a gap that was never supposed to close.

Accepting your imperfections isn't a one time decision, and it's definitely not the same as giving up. It's more like choosing to stop treating yourself as a problem to solve. You're allowed to be someone who is still figuring things out while also being worthy of your own patience, those two things can be true at the same time.

A Little Note from Me:

The shift wasn't about lowering my standards. It was about stopping the punishment long enough to actually see myself clearly. You can want to grow and still be okay with where you are right now. That's not a contradiction. I need you to realize that going through all of this is just part of being human.
