I'm proud of myself

I’m proud of myself

Hey,

Saying "I'm proud of myself" out loud feels weird for a lot of us. It feels like bragging. Like you're supposed to stay quiet about the things you've pulled off, especially if nobody else noticed them.

But the wins nobody claps for are sometimes the heaviest ones. Getting out of bed on a day your body said no. Sending the message you kept putting off for weeks. Choosing not to say the thing you would've regretted. Nobody saw those moments. Nobody handed you anything for them. You just did it, and moved on.

We spend so much time measuring ourselves against a highlight reel that doesn't exist in real life. We look at where we should be, what we haven't done yet, and completely skip over the distance we've already covered. You're not the same person you were two years ago. That shift counts.

Pride doesn't have to be loud. It doesn't require a big milestone or a finish line someone else drew for you. It's quieter than that. It's looking back at a hard stretch and thinking, I got through that. Recognizing that surviving something…..really surviving it, took more out of you than people realize.

You're allowed to acknowledge that. Because you kept going anyway.

A Little Note from Me:

I spent a lot of time waiting to feel proud, waiting for something big enough to justify it. What I've learned is that the small, unsexy decisions are usually the ones that hold a life together. The boundary you held even though it cost you something. The call you made when you didn't feel like it. That version of you deserves recognition too.

I'm proud of myself, not for being perfect, but for still being here.
