This one is hard to accept, especially when your thoughts feel loud, convincing, and nonstop. Your thoughts feel real, but they aren’t always true. That doesn’t mean you’re dramatic, broken, or overreacting. It means your brain is doing what brains do…. trying to protect you, make sense of things, and fill in gaps when there’s uncertainty. Sometimes it gets it right. Sometimes it doesn’t.

A thought can sound confident and still be wrong. It can tell a convincing story and still leave out key information. You’ve probably had thoughts that said you weren’t enough, that something was your fault, or that things would never get better, and later realized those thoughts weren’t facts, just fear speaking. That doesn’t make you weak. It makes you human. Learning to pause and question your thoughts instead of automatically believing them is a skill, not a switch.

You don’t have to argue with your thoughts or silence them completely. You just need a little bit of distance from them. Not every thought deserves your trust, your energy, or your reaction. Some thoughts are just noise passing through. And the moment you realize that, they lose some of their power.
